I love my middle name, Joy, because there’s so much that brings my heart joy. Food, for example. Making it, serving it, eating it around a table full of people I love. Since I was a little girl I have found tremendous joy in food: experimenting in the kitchen, watching Food Network, accompanying my mom every time she went to the grocery store. I also dreamed of one day having my own cookbook, and now that day is here. Though the 100 recipes included here are all gluten free, I guarantee they are all delicious! If there’s one thing that has surprised me in the years since I discovered I had Celiac, it’s that food can be just as tasty, fluffy, buttery and decadent without gluten! In some ways being forced to think more about ingredients and the “science” behind a recipe has led me to love food more and become a better cook. My hope is that the memories and community I’ve made with the help of these recipes will be shared by you too, as you experiment with the merriment and joy that a kitchen can bring.
